THE STORY: The last time Aregawi saw his mother was the night he left Africa, fleeing a repressive regime. Now after 30 years and many legal and immigration battles, he hopes to finally reunite with her and negotiate his complex relationship with his homeland. This documentary confronts complex topics of immigration, moral compass, identity, survival, and how we perceive the world around us.
